AI-Accelerated Software Engineering

The way software is built has changed. The recruitment industry has not caught up.

We are the first UK specialist in AI-accelerated software engineering recruitment.

What this actually means

AI-accelerated software engineering (sometimes called "vibe coding" in the industry) is the practice of building software with AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, and the rapidly growing class of coding agents) as a first-class part of the workflow rather than as an autocomplete sidekick. The engineers doing this well are not replacing themselves with the tools. They are building things that were previously the work of teams, and they are doing it in a fraction of the time.

The change in what a productive engineer looks like is significant. Buyers building AI-augmented teams need to hire for a different set of skills than they did three years ago. Most recruiters do not yet understand that. We do.

Roles we recruit

  • Engineers building with AI in the workflow (what the industry calls "vibe coding")
  • Technical leads running AI-accelerated engineering teams
  • Prompt engineers with software delivery responsibility (a real and emerging role, not the hype-cycle prompt engineer)
  • Founders and technical co-founders building AI-native products who need a recruiter who understands the difference
  • Heads of engineering moving teams from traditional to AI-accelerated delivery

Skills versus credentials

The credentials that mattered for traditional software hiring (CS degrees, specific framework experience, years-at-current-stack) are still relevant but no longer sufficient.

The skills that distinguish strong AI-accelerated engineers (judgement about when to use which tool, the ability to verify AI output critically, the architecture instincts that compensate for AI's gaps) are harder to filter for and rarely captured by ATS screens.

We filter for the skills, not the credentials.

Why this needs specialist recruitment

The category is moving faster than the recruitment industry knows how to respond to. Most recruiters do not yet understand what distinguishes a strong AI-accelerated engineer from someone who has added Copilot to their IDE. The work requires judgement that keyword-based sourcing cannot capture.

We started TriTech Search in part to solve this problem. AI-accelerated software engineering needs a specialist who understands the work.
